Why I Haven't Blogged Lately, Updated

The finished project!

Second to right was Micayla's stocking until I finished the first picture. Now the mantle is complete...for this year at least. :)

Why I Haven't Blogged Lately

So I've been working tirelessly to get this done...I started in August (of this year) and had a goal to finish it by Thanksgiving. I "finished" the stitching on Thanksgiving day (whew!). I've spent nap times, late evenings, and 9 hour car trips working on her stocking, and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Now I just have to find someone local that can finish it with a sewing machine for me since I don't own one. This is the fastest I have ever worked on a stocking though--it probably was the easiest as well. Hudson's stocking took me over a year to complete. I sure miss my Mom though--I always sent them to her and she truly "finished" them for me. She would have been glad to do this one as well. Maybe I'll get it actually hung this year on the mantle! (And I should go ahead and start on the next one so that when we adopt again, I'll have something in the works but right now, I'm taking a stitching break.)
