First, we took this (okay, maybe not this exact plane, but you get the idea) to Dallas, then took another one to Little Rock.
We luv Southwest. :) Wish they would fly into Memphis, but maybe there's hope once the Wright Amendment goes away that at least the possibility of SWA going to Memphis is there. Probably unlikely, but I can hope. I'd rather fly Southwest than any other airline---the flight attendants/gate agents are normally extremely friendly (well except for one, but that's another story), and so helpful since we need to gate check the stroller and carseat. If there is room on the plane, they'll often give us the option of leaving Micayla in her seat, and don't force us to pay for that seat. What other airline is so family friendly? Enough for the Southwest commercial. I did enjoy the email I got from them after we flew to Little Rock though: Dear Carol (because it is my first name), congratulations on receiving your rapid reward! It has now been deposited into your account. Sincerely, SWA (okay, that was paraphrased a little). But still, I've got a free ticket now to use! Again, sorry for the commercial. :) Moving on....
Then, we rented a car so that we could drive to Tennessee.
We arrived at my sister Lisa's home later that evening and had pizza for dinner. (Hudson's favorite). Micayla crawled for several hours after being forced to be in our arms or the carseat all day long, and had fun playing with her cousins. The three little girls took a bath together, and Kathryn and Lauren had a lot of fun putting bubbles on Micayla's head. (Sorry, no pictures for this one--they are on my sister's camera.) We slept good that night after being in a plane or car all day long.
We had breakfast with my dad, his new wife (Glenda), and Glenda's mother (Elsie) on Saturday morning. Then we headed back to Lisa's house so that we could get some much needed naps in. Except that Micayla believes that when you are not at home, 20 minute naps (for the entire day!) will be fine. Mom and Dad were more exhausted from trying to keep up with her all day long (she woke up at 6:45 and went to bed at 8:30). At least she slept good at night, as in not waking up during the evening.
On Saturday night, we went to my other sister's home (Lesli) and had a combined early birthday celebration for her husband Justin, and for Hudson.

Hudson being funny. I think Justin was really worried that Hudson was going to steal this mint chocolate chip ice cream cake and not get any.
Hudson finally decides to be cooperative in having a nice picture made. :)
On Sunday morning, we went to Lisa and her family's church. Kathryn accepted Christ last December, but Lisa had wanted us to be there for her baptism, and we were glad that it worked out. The picture is a little blurry because we were in the balcony, but if you look really closely, you'll see that someone special is baptizing her. She was very glad that Uncle Hudson could do the honor for her special day. (Sidenote--they practiced on Saturday in Lesli's garage, and I should have taken a picture of that, but didn't.)
After the service on Sunday morning, we went here for lunch. Two words: Memphis Barbeque. Yum Yum. (Okay, sorry that was 4 words).

Their slogan says it all.
We went and did this after lunch and naps (again, Micayla took a 30 minute nap only.) The splash park was so much fun, and though it had rained a majority of the day, we were able to enjoy the sun for an hour. The water was a little chilly, so Micayla and I didn't stay in it too long, though she loved it.
Mommy and Micayla (before we got wet).
Lesli and Micayla.
Sunday evening had us back at my dad's to have a quick dinner, then back to Lisa's for mandatory sleep. :)
Monday morning, Lesli and Justin asked us to accompany them to Target so that they could register for their little one coming in September. We gave advice and suggestions, but ultimately they made the choices that they want for their little boy. That's right---my sister is breaking our tradition of all girls and having a little boy and we couldn't be more excited.
Monday afternoon, we took a few pictures before driving back to Little Rock and catching another flight to Dallas, and then arrived back in Houston around 9:00 pm. A little bit of a late night, but we still enjoyed our trip. Micayla took a 3 hour nap yesterday in her own crib, so apparently she prefers to sleep long periods of time at home, but not when we are away. :)
Lauren, Micayla, and Kathryn all dressed in their red, white, and blue to celebrate Memorial Day.
We thank God for our family being so hospitable towards us, as well as thanking our veterans and current servicemen/women that protect our freedoms. Hope you had a happy Memorial Day too!

I am glad to "hear" about the trip! Looks / sounds like it went well. Let's talk soon so I can hear more.
Looks like a fabulous time. Next time you fly to Dallas, though, you need to come to Ft. Worth! :)
